HI THERE, WE LOVE FEEDING, GRAZING, STYLING AND DESIGNING.
We started assembling produce, props and people for special events in 2012 and embrace the fact that every day is different. Firecracker combines all the things we love; community, unique and dynamic atmospheres, nourishment and building connections through food.
The founder Cassie has inherited her Granny's love of feeding, her hate for waste and her philosophy on simple cooking, made from the heart.
Cassie’s former life was as a Landscape Architect - this is where the design side of Firecracker comes from!
Cassie opened Firecracker HQ in Thornbury, which she uses for food prep, meetings, workshops, intimate dinner parties and Pop Ups. She prides herself on her good relationships with clients, suppliers and guests and is inspired by the notion of ‘community’ through communication, collaboration and celebration.
Some of Cassie’s favourite Firecracker projects have been working with Frankie magazine and Dumbo Feather magazine, collaborating with The Design Files, running a pop-up shop in collaboration with Fig + Salt and most recently a pop up bar called Salt & Peppa with Bangin Hangins
The Dutch and Japanese have two words and their meanings are things that we aim for in each piece of work we do:
Gezellig “Literally, it means cozy or quaint, but can also connote time spent with loved ones or a general togetherness”.
Wabi sabi - “finding the beauty in things which are imperfect, impermanent and incomplete. It is modest and humble. It is a beauty of things unconventional”
It's in these ideas and atmospheres that we strive to create in each of our events.
